Common MVC Interfaces in PHP

Interested early adopters might want to follow some additional public repositories at github. Looks like there is some initiative to streamline PHP interfaces for diverse PHP based MVC implementations. Namely Zend Framework and Symfony.

Name of the baby: FIG. Short for Framework Interop Group. Matthew Weier O’Phinney (Blog, Github), Engineer at Zend, started to define a set of potential common interfaces to utilize between various frameworks. It ships in two repositories: fig-standards (Readme) and fig-library (Readme).

I really like the idea, think it’s great to have that in the future, especially as I know more and more developers that are looking forward the upcomming versions of both: Symfony2 and Zend Framework 2.

Update: php-fig as github org.
